Steven Greenwood

In 1986, Steven and Ronald Ross founded Magstar. Steven transitioned into the role of President once the company was acquired by CHS in 2012. He is a well-known figure in the retail industry with over 45 years of experience.

In 1986, Steven and Ronald Ross founded Magstar, one of the few software solution providers addressing the needs of the Retail SMB market at that time. For the first 26 years, Steven served as the VP of Operations and transitioned into the role of President once the company was acquired by Constellation Homebuilder Software in 2012. He is a well-known figure in the retail industry with over 45 years of experience.

During his spare time, Steven enjoys the company of his grandchildren, plays golf with friends, and appreciates a glass of excellent scotch.

Alan Witz

Alan takes pride in the fact that he has worked with Magstar for over 20 years. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA degree, he is responsible for managing all customer projects and newly released products and upgrades.

Overall, Alan has over 20 years of experience in retail information systems and stays current by researching industry trends and obtaining feedback from customers.

When he’s not in the office, Alan likes to stay active, discuss politics, loves to travel, and play music (in his previous life he was a drummer).

Tal Peleg

Tal has 17 years of experience in the IT industry and counting. At Magstar, his role is to ensure smooth operations of Magstar products and to diagnose any issues related to Linux and hardware, which can also include networking/data communications.

His responsibilities include, but are not limited to supporting the Linux OS platform, diagnosing hardware issues, setting up new POS devices, receipt/label printers and programming barcode scanners.

When not at work, Tal enjoys playing hockey as a goalie, studying astronomy and physics, and taking long drives within Canada.

Karu Karunadeva

At Magstar, some of Karu’s responsibilities include performing gap analysis, project management, designing/modifying databases, and business management. It’s been 10 years since Karu joined Magstar and he never looked back.

Overall, he has more than 20 years of experience in the retail/wholesale industry and in the past, he managed an IT team focused on projects centered on security, systems development, and office automation support. It’s been 10 years since Karu joined Magstar and he never looked back.

Some of Karu’s hobbies include spending quality time with his family, watching basketball games, getting hooked on television shows, and traveling.

Elena Mikhailovskaia

Customers know Elena as an intelligent and trustworthy Account Manager who’s been with Magstar for more than a decade. Elena has a Bachelor of Commerce degree along with an MBA, and specializes in managing wine/liquor and drugstore chains.

She is a typical Sagittarius, loves to make jokes, always see the bright side of things, and is willing to lend a hand any way that she can.

Elena is an explorer as she enjoys travelling, visiting new places, playing golf and tennis.

Naftali Nathan

Naftali’s specialty lies in Point of Sale software and hardware. As a valued member of the Magstar team for over 9 years, Naftali is responsible for developing and enhancing the POS while managing card processor integration projects and building relationships with third parties.

Naftali is a seasoned developer and actively participates in many product development projects and assists Alex with technical issues. He is always eager to learn about the new technology and hardware dominating the retail landscape.

Ludmila Krupnik

Ludmila has been with Magstar since 1998. She has a Master’s of Science in Mathematics degree and enjoys applying her problem-solving and technical expertise. Some of her daily tasks involve interacting with customers, gathering user requirements, developing documentation, and providing expert knowledge of system processes.

Ludmila is a bright and vibrant Systems Analyst who’s been with Magstar since 1998. She has a Master’s of Science in Mathematics degree and enjoys applying her problem-solving and technical expertise. Some of her daily tasks involve interacting with customers, gathering user requirements, developing documentation, and providing expert knowledge of system processes.

Since last year, Ludmila is a proud grandma. When she’s not with her grand-child, she enjoys reading novels, traveling, and Flamenco dancing.

Mike Choi

Mike is a superhero in disguise. By day, he converts tea into code and astonishes customers with his fast resolutions and attentive manner. He plays a vital role in design discussions, believes in simplicity, and works with customers to perform the analysis, testing, and installation of Magstar applications.

By night, he loves to watch and play golf, soccer, and tennis, and spends his free time learning how to play a traditional musical instrument.

Ching-Ting Ho

Ching-Ting has been with Magstar for over 9 years. Previously, her responsibilities centered on providing support for the back office application, only recently she is endowing POS customers with her attention. The majority of Ching-Ting’s customers are in the wine/liquor and apparel industry.

Ching-Ting has been with Magstar for over 9 years. Customers call Ching-Ting a guardian angel as she is patient, attentive, and responds to all questions immediately. Previously, her responsibilities centered on providing support for the back office application, only recently she is endowing POS customers with her attention. The majority of Ching-Ting’s customers are in the wine/liquor and apparel industry.

Outside of the office, Ching-Ting enjoys spending quality time with her niece.

Lavanya Nagarajan

Before Magstar, Lavanya worked as a Quality Assurance professional at Jonas Software and TMX Group. Currently, she is an Account Manager at Magstar and is responsible for gathering requirements, designing modifications, testing and supports our customers.

Outside of work, she loves to travel the world, spend time outdoors whenever possible and is interested in spirituality.

For 14 years, Peter was part of a five person team that helped support point-of-sale applications, Linux operating systems, wired and wireless hardware, networks and databased in the Shoppers Drug Mart corporate office labs and in over 1300 stores across Canada. At Magstar, he supports POS applications for small to medium sized businesses in the retail industry, including Linux POS.

When he’s not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his 3 children, friends and my church family. He is probably the best Internet golfer in the world, and yet, probably the worst real-life golfer in the world. When it’s time to retire, he hopes to live in Longyearbyen.

Veronika Naumenko

Veronika has been with Magstar for over 10 years and has ensured that the company’s books are always in order. Some of her responsibilities include data processing, general ledger entries, handling yearly closing processes, financial budgeting, hardware sales, and office administration.

Veronika is a bundle of energy and a professional multi-tasker when it comes to accounting. She’s been with Magstar for the last 10 years and has ensured that the company’s books are always in order. Some of her responsibilities include data processing, general ledger entries, handling yearly closing processes, financial budgeting, hardware sales, and office administration.

She’s an optimist, a realist, and very spontaneous. On her spare time, Veronika is at the gym or enjoying a novel by many of her favorite authors.
