Magstar Announces Total Mobile POS for Wireless Lanebusting and Advanced Processing of Customer Returns

Magstar Inc. (“Magstar”), a leading mid-size enterprise retail solution developer, announces their new Magstar Total Mobile POS solution - a lightweight Point of Sale handheld that will allow retailers to notably improve customer service levels while adeptly handling lane busing, basic POS transactions and customer returns. Magstar Total Mobile POS will give retailers and their customers the freedom to operate throughout the store and in outside store areas via a secure wireless network.

Using the same technology and easy-to-use design features from the company’s award-winning Total POS solution (Magstar was DigiPos’ North American Vendor of the Year in 2007), Magstar Total Mobile POS is a powerful portable touch screen tool capable of real time lookup of items, pricing and customer loyalty (CRM) information. At the same time, it is able to fully-integrate all sales activity back to the powerful, feature-rich Magstar Total POS solution, which then automatically instantly feeds the data to the Total Retail enterprise solution.

Retailers can also easily use the Total Mobile POS handhelds during a sidewalk sale, tent sale, at a drive through and even notably change the way their returns are handled.”

After scanning items in shopping baskets using Total Mobile POS, sales associates can provide shoppers with a quick receipt that when presented to a cashier recalls all items for quick check-out. Or when incorporating the mag-stripe/pin attachment with the mobile device, customer’s using credit or debit cards can be processed immediately without the need to enter into a checkout lane. Magstar Total Mobile POS utilizes lightweight Motorola MC75 mag-stripe/pinpad and Zebra MZ320 printers.

Steven Greenwood added, “Adding to the flexibility of Total Mobile POS is that it has the ability to simplify the return process for a store and their customers. All the information for a return can be captured as soon as a customer enters the store. A bar coded receipt is generated and provided to the customer. The customer can then go shopping and, when it’s time for them to check out, the customer presents the Total Mobil POS-generated return receipt to the cashier for recall and any new purchases can then be added to generate a single transaction. Our customers are very excited about this new product. It gives mid-size retailers a very viable and cost-effective way to compete head-to-head with the big box and tier-one stores.”
