Our Timeline

Magstar was founded on the belief that retailers deserve more than one-size-fits-all software. Since our start in the early '90s, we’ve worked closely with businesses in liquor, garden and pool supply, apparel, and other niche markets to build solutions that reflect their real-world needs.

In 1986, Steven and Ronald Ross founded Magstar. Steven transitioned into the role of President once the company was acquired by CHS in 2012. He is a well-known figure in the retail industry with over 45 years of experience.

Alan takes pride in the fact that he has worked with Magstar for over 20 years. With a background in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA degree, he is responsible for managing all customer projects and newly released products and upgrades.

Naftali’s specialty lies in Point of Sale software and hardware. As a valued member of the Magstar team for over 9 years, Naftali is responsible for developing and enhancing the POS while managing card processor integration projects and building relationships with third parties.

Customers know Elena as an intelligent and trustworthy Account Manager who’s been with Magstar for more than a decade. Elena has a Bachelor of Commerce degree along with an MBA, and specializes in managing wine/liquor and drugstore chains.
